About the Role

An expanding and market leading insurance broker is seeking an IBA Technician to join its Finance Team. The client has a fantastic reputation across the market.

The IBA Technician is responsible for providing an efficient and effective Fiduciary
Accounting service to the business whilst adhering to Regulatory, Risk and Compliance
requirements.

Key Responsibilities


  • Post and allocate client premium receipts and underwriter claims receipts to the correct ledger accounts on Sequel Eclipse Broking daily

  • Process Non-Bureau underwriter payments on Sequel Eclipse Broking daily and issue remittance advices

  • Release De-linked signings following client settlement or request cash submission as applicable.

  • Advise Business Units of cash received on a daily basis.

  • Liaise with clients, underwriters, Business Units and Operations to resolve issues with ledger accounts and escalate

  • Provide all relevant client and market documentation (e.g. Underwriter Remittance Advices, Premium Closings)

  • Monitor ledger accounts to ensure payment warranties, unallocated cash, unforwarded balances funding, payable credits, aged debt and doubtful brokerage are managed appropriately

  • Responsible for the resolution/escalation of financial issues with clients, underwriters, Business Units and Operations

  • Conduct regular meetings with relevant Business Units to discuss the current position on payment warranties, unallocated cash, funding, payable credits, aged debt and doubtful brokerage

  • Manage currency sales where required

  • Alert manager of deficiencies and suggested improvements in the teams  processes, procedures and controls

  • Produce accurate and regular MI on the ageing of unallocated cash, funding,  payable credits, aged debt, doubtful brokerage and other key KPI’s required by  the Business Units, Client Money or Credit Control Committees 

Key Skills & Experience

The client is seeking someone who has a minimum of 2 years' experience with an understanding of Sequel Eclipse Broking is advantageous.

The business is seeking someone with current Insurance Broker Accounting knowledge gained within the insurance industry. They are seeking someone who is a confident communicator, solid technical skills, confident in working in a team environment and ultimately wants to see their career develop.
