About the Role

We are recruiting for an Underwriting Partner within Digital Solutions Team. This role is responsible for executing the day-to-day underwriting activities for digital broking platforms, and its auto-follow facilities.

The Partner will apply a detailed understanding of the platform’s rule set to underwrite risks, review complex contracts, and ensure the operational integrity of the underwriting process, helping to deliver superior outcomes for our clients and capacity providers.

It’s not a pure sales/broker role, and not a traditional desk underwriter writing new business from scratch. It’s more of a hybrid underwriting + technical operations + platform governance role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and execute daily underwriting activities for said products to drive broker adoption and maximise platform utilisation

  • Conduct detailed reviews of multiple contracts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to underwriting standards

  • Manage key manual underwriting processes, analysis of long-term agreement clauses, processing of endorsements, and managing capacity allocation for multi-layered programs

  • Manage and facilitate the referral process for risks that fall outside the automated underwriting rules

  • Identify and recommend enhancements to the Underwriting platform based on daily underwriting activities to help improve broker experience

Key Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will possess previous Underwriting or Broking experience within the (re)insurance market, alongside strong knowledge of local market practices and structures. The role requires someone with excellent relationship management skills who is confident liaising with and constructively challenging both Broking and Underwriting teams where necessary.

Applicants should demonstrate experience working with digital underwriting platforms and possess the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new insurance technologies. Strong analytical capability will be essential in order to interpret and apply complex, rules-based underwriting protocols within a digital environment. The position also requires meticulous attention to detail, particularly when reviewing multiple contracts and policy wordings, alongside exposure across multiple lines of business.

All applicants must have a permanent right to work in the UK
